Trade Works for America Statement on Deal to Lift Steel and Aluminum Tariffs

WASHINGTON, D.C. Trade Works for America Co-Chair Phil Cox today issued the following statement upon announcement of an agreement to lift tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from Canada and Mexico, marking a key advancement in the ratification of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA):

“Removing tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from Canada and Mexico brings much-needed certainty to U.S. trade policy, which in turn allows American workers, job creators, and the economy to maximize their growth potential. We applaud the Trump administration for working with members of Congress and our trading partners to find a solution that protects the interests of each nation. Now, it’s time to ratify the USMCA.”
