June 26, 2019
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Trade Works for America, a coalition of American job creators urging Congress to approve the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), today launched a six-figure Spanish-language campaign, which includes a new call-to-action website as well as new ads on Univision television, radio, and digital platforms.“The USMCA will benefit workers, businesses, and communities across the country, and it’s critical to educate people across the nation about those benefits,” said Trade Works for America Co-Chairs former Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) and Phil Cox. “As lawmakers work to approve this critical free trade agreement, we will continue to take our message local by discussing how the USMCA is a 21st century, enforceable deal that will protect workers, create jobs, and grow the economy.”
Spanish-language ads are airing in 11 congressional districts: CA-10, CA-25, CA-45, CA-48, CA-49, FL-09, FL-26, FL-27, TX-07, TX-32, and TX-34.
In the ad airing in Texas and California, Alma Acevedo, president of Global Tooling Specialties, shares how the USMCA creates a level playing field for U.S. workers and businesses and keeps them competitive in the global marketplace.
In Florida, ads airing in South Florida and the Orlando-area highlight the benefits the USMCA will bring to the state’s workers, farmers, and small businesses.
Trade Works for America is running a multi-million dollar advertising campaign urging lawmakers across the country to support the USMCA. To date, the coalition’s efforts have generated more than 250,000 phone calls and letters to members of Congress.
